The village of Černilov is situated approximately 10 km northeast of Hradec Králové. It consists of local parts of Černilov, Bukovina and Újezd.

Černilov is the largest village of the Hradec Králové district. The hill Tranecký kopec of 274 metres above sea level is the highest hill. The first record of Černilov dates from 1271. The church was already here at that time. The National Museum in Prague keeps gold scrolls which were excavated in the village in 1889.

The village is easily accessible by public transport since the connections going from Dobruška, Nové Město nad Metují go via the village on their way to Hradec Králové and so does the coach linking Náchod and Prague.
