Paseky nad Jizerou
Krkonoše Mountains
Paseky nad Jizerou, a mountain village, is located in the western fringe of Krkonoše, in the protected landscape area of Krkonošský národní park, close to Rokytnice nad Jizerou.
It extends on the right side of Jizerský důl below Hromovka and Kapradník; the highest point is Bílá skála. There is a rock ridge named Mechovice in the middle of the village. The first record of the village dates back to 1654, but it was probably founded already in the 16th century. The dominant feature of the village and the surrounding area is the Baroque St. Wenceslas' Church.
Paseky nad Jizerou is a popular destination for tourists not only for its location and beauties of nature, but also thanks to its cultural traditions. There are excellent conditions for skiing in winter. There are five ski lifts in the village.
